Taste of Essex ~ NECC
The North Essex Chamber of Commerce is an membership organization which provides various education and promotional opportunities for businesses in the Northern New Jersey area. In April 2022, the NECC hosted its 20th Anniversary of the Taste of Essex an annual event where attendees can sample offerings from dozens of participating food and drink vendors. The vendors also have the opportunity to win an award in the savory, sweet, and beverage categories.

Outreach Tactics
Celebrate the return of a spectacular event which brings many businesses and local NJ residents together for food tasting and fun.
Share content that encourages vendor sign-ups, ticket sales, and sponsorships. We informed the audience about sponsorship packages. Highlighted every vendor confirmed to attend the event. Created weekly interactive #TasteTuesday contests to win tickets and build event hype.
Solutions
Most sponsor levels would receive a social media promotion while we also aimed to promote every vendor that confirmed their attendance. Originally 20 vendors were confirmed and as the event neared we reached 40 vendors confirmed.
Our post frequency increased exponentially from 2-3x per week to 3-4x per day to ensure we provided exposure for all confirmed vendors. To spur more event interest we held contests to win tickets and sent additional promotions to purchase tickets. On the day of we featured every vendor on the IG story and went LIVE during the awards ceremony.
Challenges
The account had been inactive for two years, there was little gauge on how much of an audience TOE still had and if they were engaged on social media.
